                                Acupuncture
treatments involve the gentle insertion of very fine, hair-like
needles, to stimulate points along the body’s energetic
pathways. According to modern researchers, these energy pathways
(known in Oriental Medicine as “meridians”) are planes
of connective tissue that connect to every cell and organ in your
body. The energy that runs through these tissues (known in Oriental
Medicine as “Qi”) is often referred to as “bio-electricity.”

In Oriental Medicine, the therapeutic benefits of Acupuncture
come from its ability to balance and restore the proper
flow of vital Qi energy throughout the body. When Qi
energy is flowing freely, the body is able to heal and function
                                  properly.

                                From
a Western perspective, the benefits of acupuncture stem from its
ability to affect the brain, nervous, hormonal, immune, vascular,
and muscular systems. Acupuncture is able to trigger the body’s
own pain relieving chemicals (i.e. endorphins and enkephalins)
and can increase blood flow to various parts of the body, including
                                  internal organs.
